Leopard Sharks
The swimmers in this group are at the BC provincial "AAA" level or are working on qualifying for Age Group National Championships. Depending on age the aims of the group are similar to the Angel Sharks but perhaps more intense. A strong desire to succeed through hard work, perseverance, and a positive attitude will see swimmers achieve their goals.
Emphasis is put on monitoring the athletes throughout the year, including the off-season. Swimmers at this level must be able to demonstrate an exact understanding of their body by doing (as an example) a 200 m swim on a 33 second/50m pace, or getting their heart rate to 170 bpm on a set of 10 x 100 meters.
Coaches for this group will be a NCCP level 2 (minimum) or higher.
This group trains for 11.5 hours per week.
