Fundraising Commitment
To ensure that our fees are kept to an affordable cost, each family is given a one time "fundraising commitment" ( FRC) per year. This is an additional cost to monthly swim fees and is dependent on the child’s swim level.

Thrifty Food Reloadable Cards
The Thrifty's Smile Card programme has been a very popular and easy way to help meet your fund raising commitments in the past. Due to changes at their head office the club membership needs to be aware of how to continue to get fund raising credit that is due to them. In the past the club was sent a monthly update on the credit was due to you. We no long receive this. They had initially suggested that each family keep their receipts and turn them into our fund raising coordinator but there is an easier way that we would like to recommend.
Rather than hand in your receipts (and unfortunately the club does require some sort of hardcopy proof of your purchases), it will be very simple to follow the directions that have been cut and paste below (they are from the Thrifty's rep). To get your entire amount from September to January, you are going to have to enter in three to four date ranges and then print each summary. The first date range should be Sep 01, 2010 -Nov 01 2010. Click on FILE (top left top of your screen) and then select "print" to print off a copy of that page. Then enter the second date range (Nov 2, 2010 - Jan. 3, 2011) and again print it off and and finally enter Jan. 4, 2011 - Jan. 15, 2011) and do it again.
When you get them all printed, drop them at the pool in an envelope marked "CHERYL ROUSSEAU - THRIFTYS" before JANUARY 20th and she will do the rest of the calculating to determine your fundraising amount and pass that along to me. Basically she will look at all your RELOADs and multiply that total sum by .05 to determine your fundraising. It's a bit of a hassle all around, but there is little the club can do at this point as Thriftys changed the delivery of the program after we'd already started the swim season. At least this alternative still provides a fundraising option for everyone.
In regards to anyone collecting on your family's behalf, we will need you to do the same for their card if you want it to count toward your account. Simply ask them to read off the numbers on the back of the card, noting that there are two (one is the card #, the other shorter number is the security #) and you can still log in using the link below and then proceed with the same process as described above.
Checking Smile Card balances online at *www.thriftyfoods.com (This link is located under "In Our Stores" > Smile Cards)
See the link on our website for checking smile card balances (see link): *https://giftcard.eigendev.com/giftcards/main/TFoods/giftcardbalancepage.php?status=You+are+now+signed+out
The website will show you single card information - card (cash) balances only. For example, if you distribute a card and someone loads $100, then shops for groceries, spends $50, you are going to see card balance of $50. It will not tell you specifically the fundraising amounts... that is a calculation the cardholder will need to do for each month (as follows):
When a cardholder logs in to see the Smile Card balance, there is a date range selection to select the time frame they want to see all their card activity (they can select from September, 2010 - the start of your fundraising term, or they can select card activity for one month at a time to report back on their card loads that month to provide an update on their fundraised amount.
In the card activity, they'll see "reload" transaction -that is the amount of money put on the card and this "reload" is what the 5% fundraising amount is calculated on. If a cardholder wants to determine how much they've fundraised so far, they would select the date range September 1 to December 14, and it will show all the "reloads". They will total up the reload amounts and multiply by 5% ... that will tell them how much they've fundraised to date.
When they log in they will need to enter their card # and security digits (on the back of the smile card).
